Finger Lakes Challenge: July 19-20, 2014

A two-day ride, offering three routes on Saturday and two routes on Sunday:

Saturday:
*Lunch will be served at Keuka Spring Winery for Saturday rides.

30 Mile: A flat, out-and-back ride down the east side of Keuka Lake.

Metric Century (62.5 miles): A beautiful metric century ride that includes a handful of climbs that will challenge you.

Century (100 miles): A beautiful century ride that follows the majority of the metric century, including climbs that will challenge you. From the Keuka Spring Winery, the century loops north of Keuka Lake to the picturesque Mennonite Farms.

Sunday:

25 Mile:  The 25-mile route packs a punch – starting off with a climb. This route takes you west to the northern end of the west fork of Keuka Lake and back through Penn Yan before returning to Keuka College.

50 Mile: Accept the challenge with this 50-mile route – starting off with a climb. This route takes you west through the northern towns of the west fork of Keuka Lake.

Southtowns Shuffle: August 9, 2014

A one-day ride, offering five route options in the greater Buffalo region.

15 Mile: A delightful pedal through the picturesque Town of Aurora and the Village of East Aurora; home of the Knox Farms State Park, Fisher-Price World Headquarters, Roycroft Campus and a vibrant farming community.

35 Mile: A lightly-challenging intermediate pedal through the picturesque Town of Aurora and village of East Aurora; home of the Knox Farms State Park, Fisher-Price World Headquarters, Roycroft Campus and a vibrant farming community. This route provides its challenge toward the middle of the ride with an exhilarating plunge at the 18-mile mark. The remaining portion provides a peaceful cool-down as you meander along manicured horse farms and a golf course.

50 Mile:  More challenging than our 35 mile route, but less-so than our metric century route, this intermediate 50-mile pedal takes you through the picturesque town of Aurora and village of East Aurora; home of the Knox Farms State Park, Fisher-Price World Headquarters, Roycroft Campus and a vibrant farming community. This route is as flat as you will find in this area and several local bicycle clubs use many of the same route segments for their ‘coffee-shop rides’.

Metric Century (62.5 miles): A challenging and rewarding pedal through the picturesque Town of Aurora, Village of East Aurora; home of the Knox Farms State Park, Fisher-Price World Headquarters, Roycroft Campus, a vibrant farming community and Sprague Brook County Park. This route's challenges are widely spaced and always result in a reward (what goes up, must come down). The last ten miles provide a peaceful cool-down as you meander along manicured horse farms and a golf course.

Century (100 miles): To complete the 100 mile course, participants kick-off on the 65 mile route, check in at start/finish by 1, and head out again to ride the 35 mile route.

Hudson River Ramble: September 20, 2014

A one-day ride offering four route options in the lower Capital region.

30 Miles: Sample the best of Columbia County cycling on the Hudson River Ramble 30-mile route!  Ride past Kinderhook Lake, the waterfalls in Valatie, and through quaint and historic Kinderhook.  From there, surround yourself in the idyllic countryside along Eichybush Road on the way back to the festivities at Birch Hill!

Metric Century (62.5 miles): The Hudson River Ramble metric century route wanders on rural roads and through the Norman Rockwell towns and villages of Columbia County.  Take a few moments along the ride at the overlook parks for views of Valatie Falls and Stuyvesant Falls.  And in between you'll see the scenic Catskill Mountains rising up on the opposite side of the Hudson River valley!

Century (100 miles): The Hudson River Ramble century route follows the scenic and historic route of the metric then breaks off to challenge riders with some hill climbing in southern Columbia County.  But with the challenges come your reward of valley vistas, a rest stop at the restored Ancram Opera House, and quiet roads that follow meandering streams.  After descending out of the hills, the route levels out and whisks you back to Birch Hill!
